A Good Man is Hard To Find

A Good Man is Hard To Find Paragraph

[I think that the grandmother was the most interesting character in the story because of her resolve and way that she sees the world.] Throughout the book, her personality seems mostly the same, but has some flaws to it. For one, when she realizes that they are in the wrong state altogether, she decides to now own up to the mistake and just go along with it instead. At times she seems like a kind loving woman who sees the best in everybody, but at other times she seems to be dishonest. For example, instead of asking to bring her cat on the trip, she secretly brings him on the trip. She thought that nothing would come of this, but then the cat popped out startling Bailey, which caused the car to crash. But then at other times, like when she’s talking to Red Sam, she seems to believe that there is good in everybody. Even when she is being held hostage by the misfit and his group, she tells them that they weren’t born this way, and that they can change. Although the Misfit says that there isn’t any going back, she still maintains that he can change up until she is killed. She also appears to stay somewhat collected during this whole encounter, which makes me think that she probably did not expect to think it would get as bad as it did. I think that the grandmother is a good example of a good person who just happens to be flawed. Throughout the book she is a good,  kind loving person who just caught up in a bad situation due to some of her actions.

  1. I can agree with most of your points, she has trouble being honest and seems overly independent, to the point of hurting others. Also, proof read, there are a few spelling and grammar mistakes in there

  2. i agree i also wrote about the grandmother although you say she doesn't change and then you point out that she goes from being a good woman to someone who lies to get what she wants

  3. Bringing up how the grandmother sneaks her cat on the trip was a really good point,it really says how her not exactly sharing her problems caused other problems; I totally agree And as Sayer said there were a few spelling mistakes.

  4. I agree with your statement about how the grandmother was collected throughout her encounter with the Misfit until she tried reaching out for him, I wonder about how the story would've been if the grandmother hadn't told the Misfit that he was her child.
